Selection as a Fellow of the Royal Society
Polkinghorne received another Doctorate in Elemental Particle Physics from Trinity College. He created mathematical models to calculate the paths of quantum particles. His work garnered him a spot as a Fellow of the Royal Society. -
Shift to Theological Studies and the Church of England
Polkinghorne resigned from his post at Cambridge to begin work in Theology. Being assigned a parish in South Bristol in 1982 and becoming a Vicar of a parish in Blean two years later. -
Science and Religion, Polkinghorne's First Book
Polkinghorne published his first book in 1983, titled 'The Way the World Is'. One of his several works on the relationship between science and religion. -
