    John Polkinghorne met his wife, Ruth Martin at Trinity University in Cambridge, studying mathematics. They both were apart of the christian union and got married after they both graduated. They later had 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl.
  • Elementary Particles-The Quark

    He became a mathematical physics professor and remained one for 25 years studying Elementary Particles. During this time he discovered the Quark. It is a essential part of mater itself, and when combined it is then called Hardons.
  • Priesthood

    In 1979 John left the idea of science and mathematics behind him and pursued becoming an Anglican Priest. He had given science plenty of years, and wanted to prioritize his religion further. To John, science was a reality but even in science there are things unexplainable that resort to spiritual aspects. Thus, him pursuing to become a priest.
  • Science and Religion

    He believed that science and religion were somehow connected. The aspects that create an organism have a level of intellect which also have aspects with a level of intellect. Thus everything in the universe has a crucial part in its existence. He was also a priest in the Angeliccan religion believing in God while also believing the Big Bang theory.
