Redcliffe was the first place chosen for the colony.

In 1825 Redcliffe was lift for what is now known as Brisbane. They chose a place where there is a loop around the land. This makes it very hard for prisoners to escape.

In 1826 Patrick became in charge Of Moreton Bays colony and said that the convicts would be tough harshly.

Nothing much had been done when Patrick arrived in 1826, so with out hesitation he started to develop the colony by planting lot of cornfields and other kinds of crops for food.

In 1828Patrick made a windmill to grin the wheat and maize grown the crops.

The Moreton Bays penal colony was set up as a place for repeat offenders from Sydney.
