    After graduating from Cal Arts in 1979, John obtained a job working for Disney. Lassater wanted to contribute and offer ideas, but his directors disliked it, and began to see Lassater as a loose cannon. After some time, Lasseter began trying to pitch CGI animated projects to the studio, which disagreed over the cost of CGI. But because Lasseter wouldn't give up on CGI, the studio fired him in 1983, and ends up getting hired at Lucasfilms (Schlender).
