    Pluralistic Metaphysics
John Dupré has contributed to the area of Metaphysics in many ways chiefly being his teachings at the University of Exeter. He focuses on the philosophy of biology with his thinking on how all living creatures are not things but processes. By this he means we are always in flux. The book "Everything Flows: Towards a Processual Philosophy of Biology" published in 2018which John helped edited does a deep dive on this.

  • Indeterministic Compatibilism

Dupre's philosophical work on indeterministic compatibilism has helped to provide a new way to think about the world around us. • Philosophy of Biology

Dupré tends to criticize the notion of taxonomy in biology. This leads back to his views on the world being dynamic and statistical. In an interview he stated, "in a world of processes these properties can only reflect an instantaneous cross-section through a world in constant flux" (“John Dupré | Issue 133 | Philosophy Now”) when asked about process-based biology.
