    John Dewey’s philosophy on education
    John Dewey’s own career and education timeline is very interesting, after graduating from the University of Vermont in 1879 he went straight to teaching at high school, but that only lasted for about two years before he decided to pursue his doctorate in philosophy at John Hopkins University and then spent the rest of his career as an educator teaching at numerous universities including the University of Michigan, the University of Chicago, and Columbia University.     Dewey spent a lot of time traveling the world to teach philosophy or visit schools. In fact, he spent two years doing lectures throughout China and at the University of Peking which impacted his views on democracy, international relations, and cultural understanding. Afterward, he dedicated time to improving such issues. Furthermore, as if all of his accomplishments so far weren’t enough, John Dewey shook up the art world through philosophy. (cont.)
