  • Dewey begins his study

    It was in this year when John Dewey began his study of logic with Charles S. Peirce and George Morris. He studied with these men for a couple years but in the end there was not a notable impact for Dewey. He began to question how the world actually worked. Was it biological, functional and material? Or is actually just spiritual? is with these questions he really began his research.
  • Dewey begins writing

    Dewey began writing many books and papers around this time. A very well known paper at the time was "Reflex-Arc Concept in Psychology." This specific paper proved to be a very important and highly praised by many people in the psychological field. When it comes to his philosophy of science he had three primary pieces, Epistemology, metaphysics, and science and society.

    In this video they talk about many of Deweys accomplishments. One of which being named Head of the Department of Philosophy at the newly founded college in Chicago. They go one to explain one of his most popular pieces of work, "The Reflex Arc Concept in Philosophy."
  • Dewey begins his research in Philosophy of Science

    Around this time Dewey established his theory of inquiry. This basically said that many situations are highly context dependent and only happen form the cause of something else. During this he created a line between data and observation. Data being manipulated practices and observations being conduct naturally through nature.
