John Dewey was an educator from 1884 to 1930 and was known for being an educational philosopher and proponent educator. It was stated in an article, "Much of twentieth century philosophy of science was centrally concerned with the nature of scientific method, and it is clear why Dewey’s contemporaries and students thought of him as a philosopher of science." (Brown, 2009). Dewey was known for always being involved in setting up scientific academies and institutions. -

John Dewey had three main interests when it came to philosophy of science: epistemology, metaphysics of science, and science and society. In an article it stated, "a view that rejected the dualistic epistemology and metaphysics of modern philosophy in favor of a naturalistic approach that viewed knowledge as arising from an active adaptation of the human organism to its environment." (Field, 2003) John Dewey changed the view of modern philosophy to a natural way of thinking. -

John Dewey got a lot of his knowledge from experiments and his own experience. In an article it said, "Nor is experience purely subjective, because the human mind is itself part and parcel of nature.
