John Brown’s Raid on Harper’s Ferry

    John Brown led a small army into a town by the name of Harper's Ferry, Virginia. He was trying to instigate a major slave rebellion. But it wasn't very well planned out.

    John Brown and his soldgiers of 18 went out in the early hours of October 17, they set out to capture and seized the federal armory and arsenal. He hoped that the slaves would join in the fight. After doing all of this. The Southern Army under Robert E. Lee came their and killed many of the fighters and captured John Brown

    They put John Brown on trial and he was quickly sentenced for high treason, and was sentenced to death.
