He was bron this day. Who knew he would become who he was. The first Prime Minister of Canada. He was born in Glagscow, Scotland on Janruary 11th, 1815. -

At age 5 Macdonald moves to Kingston,Ontario,Canada. This is in seek of a better live in Canada than in Scotland. He had a rough life with being an alcoholic from a young age. If he hadn't moved from Scotland confederation may not have happened aas early as it did. This would mean Canada would not b ethe same. -

John A Macdonald became Prime Minister of Canada West. This gave him political knowlage on how to run a country. He promased that if the colonies had united they would be able to keep their language and culture. -
Confederation
This is the year Canada was born. All the colonies had agreed that they should unite. Quebec almost didnt want to confederate beause they were afraid to lose their language and culture. They were promased that when confederation took place and it still runs through present day. John A Macdonald persuaded them to confederate. -
Pacific Scandal
John A Macdonald was forced to resign because of the pacific scandal. . Even though he went through humiliation of doing nothing illegal he still decided to resign. At the time it was completely legal to give money to the people being elected to Prime Minister. Sir Hugh Allan had given $350 000 to help build the railway as he was the builder. But people thought it was a bribe and that lead to Jhn resigning. -

John A Macdonald was re elected because of his proposal of National Policy.The National Policy was a Canadian economic program introduced by John A. Macdonald's Conservative Party in 1876 and put into action in 1879. It called for high tariffs on imported manufactured items to protect the manufacturing industry. -

John A Macdonald was Prime Minister until the date of his death. This was because he was a very good leader and his ideas were for the best of Canada -

The railway was ungergoing construction. This was his main promase from National Policy. With a railway he would be able to have goods travel easily through the country and that would be very easy for defence from the United States because soliers would be able to move cross country faster. -

John A Macdonald dies this day from natural causes. He was the first Prime Minister in Canada and the biggest role in the Canadian Pacific Railway. If it weren't for him Canada would not be the same as it is present day.
