The Battles of Lexington and Concord
The first military engagements of the war in which colonists fought British soldiers that were going to seize an arm cache in Concord. They led in Lexington and gave the colonists enough time to hide the arms and weapons. -
The Siege of Fort Ticonderoga
British troops advanced to siege Fort Ticonderoga in New York. The attempt was successful and hurt the pride of many Colonists because it was known as their mightiest fort. -
The Battle of Chelsea Creek
It was the second military engagement that occurred in Boston, and was also the first naval engagement of the war. It ended in a victory for the Colonists. -

This was the second Battle of Saratoga in which British troops from the first battle were waiting for reinforcements. None arrived and they decided to rush another attack on the Americans in an attempt to overtake them. The Colonists won easily almost killing the British general as well. It was a major victory that gave France the confidence to join forces with the Colonists. -

This was a battle in which Washington demonstrated his bravery and leadership. After his second in command fleed the battlescene that Washington was going to meet at. George Washington went on a fit of rage and set up the troops and went back there to attack. The battle ended in British troops fleeing to New York in the morning and was thought as a American victory. -
The Capture of Savannah
The battle took place in Savannah Georgia with Patriot militia and Continental Army troops trying to hold off the city from the British. It ended in a British victory. -

With the British's Northern strategies failing, they shifted the focus to the Southern Colonies. Their attack on Charleston was successful and it fell to the British. -

In the Battle of Cowpens, Continental forces deafeated around 1,150 British soldiers in a key victory that gave them confidence that they could win the war. -

The Battle of Yorktown
American and French troops surrounded the British soldiers in Yorktown trapping them. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington and the French giving the Colonists a decisive victory and virtually ending the Revolutionary War.
