US raised the flag on Iwo Jima. This battle was one of the most brutal battles on the Pacific. The Japanese lost almost all their men but 200 of them. This Battle was the first attack of Japanese home islands. -

The Battle of Okinawa was a 82 day battle that lasted from April 1st to June 21st of 1945. It was the bloodiest battle of the Pacific Campaign. US Marines invaded Okinawa. Japanese unleashed more than 1,900 kamikaze attacks on the Allies. The Battle of Okinawa was just what the allies expected.
