    Two Bison Reliefs

    Two Bison Reliefs
This piece is from 15,000 - 10,000 B.C.E. It is in Le Tuc d'Audoubert, Ariege, France. It is clay sculpture, which is why I chose this piece. Clay sculpture's were not usually made that far back in the past. They usually painted on cave walls. So this is sort of a rare piece for it's time.

    Horse

    Horse
This piece is from Lascaux, France. It is from 15,000 - 10,000 B.C.E. It is the normal pigment on stone. But what I think is cool about this piece is that the body, mane and feet are different colors. Which meant some prehisoric person took the time to use different colors to really represent what the horse actually looked like.

    Bison

    Bison
This piece is from 12,000 B.C.E. It is located in Altamira Cave, Sandtander, Spain. This piece is just paint on limestone, but this is the first beginnings of using color on paintings in cave walls. They probably got the pigments from red clay, by mixing it up in water. It was an innovative step in art.

Plaque in the shape of a squarish loop with projections
This piece has quite the long name and came from Hongshan, China. It is from 3500-2000 B.C.E.The really cool thing about this piece is it's made from jade, also known as nephrite. It's three inches in height as well. I chose this piece because it is one of the rarest examples of jade artwork from the Hongshan period. It is a absolutely stunning piece.

    Jar
This piece of art is from the Gansu or Qinghai province, China. It is from 2300-2500 B.C.E. It is earhenware that has painted decorations on it I chose this piece mainly because it represents a common style of the culture back then. These jars were not rare, and quite popular. I feel that makes it a proper respresentation of the culture that it was created in.

This piece is from Thessaly. It is from 4,500 - 3,200 B.C.E. It's made out of clay. I chose this piece because I thought it was innovative that they made a 3D sculpture during this time. It has all the limbs and looks really cool.

Figure of Horus as a Falcon

Figure of Horus as a Falcon
This piece is originally from Egypt. It was created in 711-30 B.C.E.It is a sculpture made out of bronze. The reason that I chose this piece is because Horus was a extrmeley important god in Egypt. He is one of the oldest gods that the Egyptians had. Also, I think it's an excellent sample of Egypt's amazing art skills.
