Georgia becomes the last of the confederate states to join the union. Georgia was re-entered into the union two years after South Carolina. When the union first began, Georgia was the fourth state to enter the union, but now the last to re-enter the Confederate Union. (Hudson) -

Tragic War
(Surge 11) March 16th, 1874 a terrible gun war was brought out. The gun war was held somewhere in Missouri near the birthpace of Jesse. In this tragic war one of James gang members, John Younger was shot to death. As a result part of the gang was gone after John's brother vanished for awhile due to the death of his brother. -
Wedding Day
(Surge 9) April 24th,1875 Jesse Woodson james got married to his first cousin, Zerelda Mimms. The wedding was held in Clay Counrty, Missouri where both James and Mimms were born. The marrage went on until the death of one. -
Andrew Johnson dies
Andrew Johnson, the 17th president of the U.S died at age 66. His death was caused by a sudden stroke. He was buried in the Andrew Johnson National Cemetary (Hudson). -
Unsuccessful Problems
Jesse and the gang had their first ever unsuccessful robbery. Many of the members of the gang were injured, making it easier to be caught. In the end, only Jesse ans Frank were left (Montgomery). -
First National Bank
(Surge 10) September 1876, Jesse James and his gang had a lifetime oppurtunity. The First National Bank was a great bank that had interest to everybody. The bank was in a bad situation after losing some customers. As a result the gang attempted to take advantage and rob the bank. Before they were able to rob the bank, many people relized what was happening in the bank and as a result the gang was beaten by the citizens of Northfield in Minnesota. Members were captured and sent to prison for life -
Children of Jesse James
Jesse and his wife gave birth to twin boys on Feburary 11th. At birth, both sons were very weak and ill. Jesse and his wife named them Gould and Montgomery.

New Crew

Second Gang; First Robbery
James new gang planned their first robbery together. They robbed a train belonging to Chicago and Alton Railroad at Glensdal, Missouri. The crew got away with $6,000 and got away dividing into two groups, one with the money. ( Walker 16-27) -
Jesse's Death
(Surge 11) April 3rd, 1882 Jesse james was murdered. Jesse was in his home back in Missouri and old members of his gang were rewarded money for the death of Jesse. Jesse was apparently fixing a picture that was on his wall while he was shot to death through the window.
