My twin sister and I were born on July 15, 2003. On the day doctors did not suspect us of having hip dysplasia.
-
My high school softball team had just found out we made it to state. We were doing an inter-squad scrimmage and my whole hip tightened up really fast.
-
During this time I had many doctors appointments, found out I tore my labrum and had hip dysplasia. I also had to do physical therapy and wait for insurance to approve my surgery. I continued playing through the pain because I couldn't hurt it more than it already was.
-
I had my right labrum repaired and my hips broken and reformed (PAO).
-
During this time I went to physical therapy 3 times a week.
-
I got cleared to play again one week after high school season started.
-
I wanted to play high school season and fall ball while I could and decided I would sit out again during the winter months when we don't play outside.
-
I had my left labrum repaired and fixed my hip dysplasia in my left hip.
-
I did physical therapy 3 times a week to gain strength to continue playing softball.
-
Despite all the surgeries I signed to Drake University 5 days after my second surgery.
-
I broke the recover record of the faster PAO to return to sport that my doctors have seen. I returned to play softball again
-
I got my screws removed a couple days before coming to Drake University for my freshman year.
-
My coach offered me a redshirt year my first year so I could get stronger for softball.
-
I got my first collegiate start at UNI verses Iowa State and we won 4-3.
