Cutler traded to Bears
Cutler was traded to the Chicago Bears along with a fifth-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft. In return, the Broncos received Bears quarterback Kyle Orton, the Bears' first- and third-round picks in 2009, and the Bears' first-round selection in 2010. -
Cutler first start for Bears
Cutler in his first start for the Bears went 17-36 for 277 yards, 1 TD's and 4 INT's. The Bears lost the opener to the Packers 21-15 at Lambeau. -
Cutler goes down in NFC Championship game
Cutler was benched during the NFC Championship game against the Packers at Soldier Field after suffering an injury. An MRI revealed that he had a sprained MCL. However, Cutler took a lot of criticism for not playing after the injury. The Bears ended up losing 21-14 to their rival, the Packers, who went on to win the Superbowl. -

In a win over the San Diego Chargers Cutler breaks his thumb on his throwing hand while making a tackle. The Bears had been 7-3 under Cutler in 2011. Cutler is most likely out for the remainder of the regular season.
