The Black Ships
The Portuguese arrived at Japan urging them to open up and to let them in and to make trade relationships with them but the Emperor refused. The Japanese were later on pressured to let them in. -

he sailed into Japan and forced them to enter trade with the unites states and demanded a treaty permitting trade and the opening of Japanese ports to U.S. merchant ships. -
Japan's crash in Social Hierarchy
When the black ships were let in most of Japan did not want them there because they were worried they would end up losing traditions and culture. The hierarchy ended up crashing and the merchants became more important. -

The unequal treaties signed with western powers during the 19th and early 20th centuries by Qing dynasty China after suffering military defeat by the west or when there was a threat of military action by those powers. -
Constitution of Japan
the constitution of Japan is signed while the country was under American occupation. this document was written by non japanese military personnel under the supervision of Douglas Macarthur, head of the Supreme command of allied forces. this document however did not remove the rules already in place set by the meiji constitution.
