Japan and China both agreed that they wouldn't send their armed forces to Korea. They had made this agreement because they both wanted to trade with Korea but they didn't each other to take over the nation. -
Sino-Japanese War begins
Japanese defeated China and forced her to give up her claims in Korea. -
Taiwan Colony
Japan drives China out of Korea, gaining Taiwan as a colony in the process. -
Russo-Japanese war
Japan takes Korea and Port Arthur from Russia. -
Treaty of Portsmouth
The Treaty of Portsmouth ended the Russo-Japanese War and granted Japan territories. -
WW2 Ends
Japan surrenders to America. WW2 officially ends. -
