Kokoda falls to the Japanese
On the 11th of August Japan took Kokoda from the Australians so they couldn''t get supplies from the air anymore -
The Japanese reach Ioribaiwa Ridge
When they reached the Ioribaiwa Ridge, it meant that the Japanese could see their target: Port Moresby, which wass only 50km away. -
Australia starts to force Japan Back
This is the turning point of the battle as it is the closest the Japanese ever got to Port Moresby and that the Japanese could be driven back and Defeated -

Gona is retaken by the combined forces of Australia and America. -

This is when both the Australians and the Americans dirve the Japanese out of New Guinea completely.
