Jane Eyre is born -
Janes parents die
Both of Janes missionary from Typhus in the span of a couple months. She is adopted by her aunt and uncle, which leads to her terrible childhood. -
Red Room
Jane gets put in the Red Room because of a fight she had with John. This is important because it convinces Mrs. Reed that Jane needs to stay somewhere else. -
Lowood
Jane gets a chance to get an education and a chance to prove she does have good character, she just wasn't being treated fairly back at home. -
Helen Dies
Helen dies right in Jane's arms. This is important because this is the first person in Jane's life to die that she can actually relate too. -
Thornfield
Jane is hired at Thornfield to teach after being at Lowood for eight years. She is excited for a new beginning and something new. -
Helping Rochester
Jane sees an unknown man fall off his horse and runs to help him. This is important because she does really have good character and the man just turned out to be Mr. Rochester -
Saving Rochester
When walking in the hall at night, Jane sees smoke coming from Rochester's room. She runs in and this is important because it makes Rochester respect Jane because she keeps saving his life. -
In the Garden
Jane and Rochester are in the garden talking about their feelings. He tells Jane that his wedding is off because he wants to be with her (Jane). -
Bertha in Jane's room
Bertha goes into Jane's room at night while she is sleeping and rips her wedding veil in half. Bertha is angry that Rochester is betraying her, and she is mad at Jane for taking her husband. -
Wedding Day
The day Jane and Rochester are in the church.all of the secrets come out and this is important because this makes Jane not trust Rochester and make sure her want to leave him. -
Jane Leaves
This is the point that Jane is forced to begin begging. She left in the middle of the night with little money and little food because she felt so betrayed by Rochester and couldn't face him any longer. -
Jane gets money
St. John comes to Jane and says that her uncle has passed away and he has left his fortune to her. This changes who Jane is in the world. She's no longer looked down upon because she is poor. -
St. John asks to marry Jane
St. John thinks Jane would be a good ministers wife. Jane already knows that the two of them are related and this changes her opinion on him. -
Back to Rochester
After St. John proposed to Jane, she realized how much she still loves Rochester.
