Chapter 1

Jane was abused, intense, and did not allow her spirit to be broken. She confronted her cousin and he took revenge by blaming her for everything, which angered her already moody aunt, who locks her up in her late husband's room. Suddenly it occurred to her that her uncle, perhaps seeing her suffer in this way, would appear to her in the form of a ghost, which generated a panic attack, and in the midst of despair, she lost consciousness. -

When she lost consciousness, her aunt rushed to call the apothecary, and at his suggestion she made the decision to send the girl to study at the Lawood institution. -

Jane felt comfortable at her school, she was learning and living a quiet life, when spring came, the disease took over the institution, a terrible typhus epidemic caused more than half of the students to become infected.
Those horrible words pierced Jane's heart like a sharp dagger, that night she could not sleep, she steeled herself and went to see her friend, who died that same night.
