Captain Christopher Newport returned to England.He was employed in the London Company to coammand their expeditions to Virginia. -

Over half the colonists died from disease and starvation some of them died from wounds from indians. -
Gates goes back to England.
Due to a lack of supplies Gates abandaned Jamestown and went back to England.While sailing down the river he sailed by Lord De La Warr. He told them to turn around and go back to Jamestown. -
De La Warr rebuilding Jamestown.
De La Warr set about rebuilding the colony Jamestown.He expanded the strict code of laws established by Gates.He rebuilt the triangle palisade with a marketplace, storehouse, and chapel. -

The winter called the starving time killed a town once 300 now 90. -

George Yeardley arrived to take his post as newly appointed governor of Virginia. -

The general assemble of the colony of Viginia. The House of Burgesses had the assemble. -
Africans arrived at Virginia.
The first recorded Africans arrived at Virginia.They had Africans work in the plantation . Jamestown had Africans work in Plantation because if they had indians do it they knew there way around so most of the time they would run away. -
Opechancarough led the indians.
Opechancarough led powhatan indians in an uprising killing about 1/3 of the 1200 colonist of Virginia. -
War between English and Indians.
A period of intermittent warfare between English and Indians. The war ended in 1632. The indians killed the English with tools and weapons, They killed men woman and children. -
The King set up a commission.
The King privy council set up a commission to investigate the Virginia company and conditions of Virginia.
