Youtube was launched in December 2005. Within the first month of being open to the public it was serving more than 2million views a day. By January 2006 that number grew to over 25million. -
Netflix Opened Streaming
One of the biggest streaming services known today was released. Netflix was originally released in 1997, but did not launch streaming until 2007. A few years later, they simultaneously launched in 130 different countries. -

The first Iphone was released! It was 499$ for the 4gb model and 599$ for the 8gb. Created and released by Apple, which would inevitably begin shaping the social media world as we know it.
