He was the son of a Scottish man. His father was a farmer. As a teenager, James did farming work with his father until the age of 18. -
James married Elizabeth Batts
Cook was in his 30s when he decided to marry Elizabeth Batts. They got married in the Barking, United Kingdom. -
James and Elizabeth got their first child!
It was a boy. They named him James. -
Captain Cook got his second child.
It was a boy. They named him Nathaniel. -
James got his first daughters and named her Elizabeth.
Sadly their daughter didn’t live long and died in the year 1771 -
Captain Cook got his fourth child!
It was a boy. Captain Cook named him Joseph. -

His main goal was to observe the planet Venus as it passed between the earth and the sun. This would help Astro I emery’s calculate the distance of the sun from the earth. -

He took two ships which were the Adventure and the Resolution. His aim was to either discover the southern continent or to prove that it didn’t exist. -

At first, things went well with then natives of the Hawaiian islands. However things went bad when the natives stole a sailboat. Captain Cook tried to kidnap the chief to hold him as a ransom for the boat. And now a fight happened and he was killed by the natives.
