The Japanese Army Invades Manchuria
In 1931, Japanese forces invaded Manchuria. They flasely claimed that their method behind the madness was that Chinese soldiers had tried to blow up a Japanese railroad. First, they took small southern cities. Later, they would continue to move foward and overtake it even after Chinese Forces left. -
Mussolini Conquers Ethiopia
This first started when Mussolini announced his dream of ccreating a new Roman Empire. The first part of this was to conquer Ethiopia, and thats exactly what he did. Along with this conquering Mussolini brought brutality to the battles by killing soldiers with things such as war planes and poison gas. Finally, despite the strong Ethiopian resistance the massive Italian Army can out on top. -
Britain’s Neville Chamberlain and Hitler meet at the Munich Conference
The Munich Conference was a meeting thats guests included, Hitler, Mussolini, Neville Chamberlain, and Edouard Daladier. This conference took place because Hitler had annexed Austria, and had his sights set on Sudetenland. Although Chamberlain wanted appeasement, he eventually settled on letting Hitler take Sudetenland. However, Hitler would end up breaking the agreement and taking all of Czechoslovakia. -
General Francisco Franco’s Nationalist forces take control of Madrid (Spain), where he rules until his death in 1975
General Francisco Franco was the leader of the Nationalists. This group eventually formed their own government, witrh Fanco as their dictator. Fanco would ask Germany and Italy for help vs the Republicans, and he would get it. He was given planes, tanks, and even soldiers, which helped the Nationalists to a victory and a Madrid ownership. -
Hitler Invades Germany
When Hitler invaded Poland it took less than a month for him and his troops to take control of the whole country. He used the new technnique. First planes bombed Poland then tanks and artillary took over. Finally, ground troops were sent in.
