    The Bank War was simply the political struggle that would take place over the years following president Jackson's refusal to renew the second bank charter.

    Jackson vetoed a bill set to renew the charter of the second bank along with a message explaining himself. This was described a "manifesto of anarchy" by Nicholas Biddle. It was described as setting the Bank War to a head.

  • Specie Circular

    The Specie Circular was an executive order that required government owned land to be paid for with only silver and gold coins instead of bank notes. This would end negatively for the nation as it would ruin the economy.
  • Panic of 1837

    The Panic of 1837 was an economic crisis that significantly affected the United States in a negative light. This was partly caused by president Jackson's refusal to renew the second bank charter and the Specie Circular.
