    The second national bank
    The national bank's purpose was to prohibit the amount of free bank notes that were available to states and private lenders or personal investors. Jackson vetoed this idea because he thought it was unfair and he thought that the national bank would have an excessive amount of marketing power.

    Presidency of Monroe
    Monroe became the president in 1817 after winning the election against Rufus King in 1816. Monroe was also the person behind the saying "Era of good feelings" which comes from the want and desire of unity after the war of 1812, because of the collapse of the federalist party and despites between parties.

    Missouri was a slave state while Maine was not. Many worried about if Missouri should be a slave state because it could easily mess up the ratio between slave states and anti-slave states. This caused the senate to have to add a bill that every state along the Louisiana Purchase would be free states not included Missouri. Missouri went on to being a free state because of the unbalance of power of slave and free states.

    Bolivar led to the independence in South America. Bolivar liberated three different territories such as Colombia, Panama and Ecuador, he went to all those places because he was told that natural resources that could make him so powerful that he would no longer be under Spanish's rule. He was famous for his leading role in the independence of Cumbia, Ecuador and Peru.

    Holy Alliance
    The Holy Alliance was an idea proposed by Russia and Prussia. It was also an attempt to protect postwar borders of Europe and to prevent revolutionary influences. The Holly Alliance and its followers believed in absolute monarchical rule and Christianity. The main reason that this was supported was because European monarchs did not want to offend Tsar by going against or refusing to sign it.

    Samuel Morey's combustion engine was to generate mechanical power him the energy stored in the fuel and then it is released through combustion fuel on the inside of the engine. This invention was extremely helpful in helping free men from some of the hardest manual labor.
  • American Temperance Union

    American Temperance Union
    The purpose of the American Temperance Union was to help drinkers in the United States to not drink or to limit the amount of drinking and resist the temptation to drink. Drinking was a problem because it went against many religions and wasn't good for the health and wellness of Americans. This was the idea of a lady named Frances Elizabeth Caroline Willard. This was not successful because Americans drunk anyways regardless of the laws made otherwise.

    Passing of the Reform act
    This act told everyone that women would be excluded from voting and only working men could vote, before this act there was rare tendencies of women voting every once in a while. It also helped broaden Franchise's property qualifications when it came to small landowners and tenant farmers, this law was passed by Lord Grey in his idea to persuade King Willams IV to consider him to use his constitutional powers for additional Whig peers (party oppositions).

    Alexis believed that in a democracy every individual is equal and will be as equal as every other individual after he observed Americans and wrote a letter that took 10 months. Alexis was also a historian and a politician.

    The panic of 1837 was quite literally a panic where people in countries where there were finical crises and the prices of things dropped and the wages and the amount of money that people had dropped sufficiently. This occurred for a couple reasons such as the lack of a national bank, the collapse of the price of cotton.

    This war started because of a guy named Elliot, he told British that they would not be able to trade for food with locals and that caused open fire on China. After the war was over, we were left with 18,000-20,000 people dead, and the colonization of China by Britian, Portugal, Russia.
  • Election of 1840

    Election of 1840
    The whole purpose of this election was to recover from the panic of 1837. During this time democrats wanted Van Buren to be nominated and they wanted him to adopt a platform calling out all the ways that national banks and national expenses could be improved, to also a hope to successfully abolish slavery. After voting there was a tie between Van Buren and William Henry Harrison making the House of Representatives the tiebreaker.
