In the Thai region in antiquity, there was was one main language, one main ethnicity and they had *various religious practices. Thai people spoke *Thai-Kadal .Thailand’s people were known as *Thai, and their religious practices are *Shamanism (a religion believed to achieve various powers through trance religious experience) and *Ancestor Worship (The veneration and respect shown to the dead). -

Today, languages over the years have changed in a good way, as well as religions. Thailand's languages multiplied into many different types of languages. Central Thai(official),Thai Lao, Northern Thai(kham mueng),Pak Dai,Yawi/Jawi(Malayu)and *NUMEROUS others. Thailand was exposed to *DIVERSE religions such as *BUDDHISM, *ISLAM, *CHRISTIANITY, *HINDUISM and traditional belief systems like*ANIMISM (belief in innumerable spiritual beings concerned with human affairs).
