    God makes a generational promise to Abraham that says from him there will be a great nation. Through him a people of God will produce. It is important because this promise will be passed on all the way to Joseph and proves that God uses ordinary people.

    Israel the chosen people are done wandering and finally start to go to Canaan. The people that make it to the promised land are a generation after Moses except Joshua. This is important because this is fulfilling God's promise dating back to Abraham.

    Gideon led the people to victory through God. God sent Gideon to fight with only 300 men and no real weapons. Gideon at first doubted God but God showed Gideon a sign with a fleece. They went to fight and God confused their enemies so they fought and killed each other. This once again shows how God is all mighty and nobody can stop him.

    Sampson was a judge for the people of Israel. He was very strong for his strength came from the Lord but once he cut his hair it would go away. His wife tricked him into cutting his hair and he was captured by the philistines. He asked God for strength to kill the philistines and God granted him it. He threw the pillars down and killed the philistines along with himself.
