Gods promise to Abraham
God makes a generational promise to Abraham that says from him there will be a great nation. Through him a people of God will produce. It is important because this promise will be passed on all the way to Joseph and proves that God uses ordinary people. -

Joseph sold into slavery
Joseph was a child of 13. His father favored him and his brothers got VERY mad. Joseph had dreams of everyone bowing down to him. His brothers were going to kill him but then they saw slave traders and sold Joseph into slavery. -

The ten plagues
God called to Moses and wanted him to deliver Gods people out of slavery. Moses was scared but finally agreed. God sent plagues to force pharaoh into letting his people. -

God parts the red sea
God parts the red sea to let his chosen people through. When the Egyptions came through God closed the gap and the Egyptions got swallowed up in water. This proves that God cares about his people and does miracles. -

The Passover
God was going to send an angel to kill all firstborns and the Isrealites put the blood of the lamb on their door so the angel of death would Passover their door. The angel of death killed the Egyptions. This is meaningful for generations to come so we celebrate Passover for when the angel passed over. -

The Ten Commandments
Moses went on a mountain and God gave him instructions to put together a law for the people. He called this law the ten commandments. This law is important because it's a foundation for moral rules even today. A few of the laws are do not murder, do not commit adultery, and do not covet. -

Wandering through the Wilderness
The people of Israel disobeyed God and grumbled. There is always an effect to a cause so God rightly punished his people and the people were wandering through the Wilderness for 40 years before their children could go to the promised land. -

Settling in Canaan
Israel the chosen people are done wandering and finally start to go to Canaan. The people that make it to the promised land are a generation after Moses except Joshua. This is important because this is fulfilling God's promise dating back to Abraham. -

Gideon
Gideon led the people to victory through God. God sent Gideon to fight with only 300 men and no real weapons. Gideon at first doubted God but God showed Gideon a sign with a fleece. They went to fight and God confused their enemies so they fought and killed each other. This once again shows how God is all mighty and nobody can stop him. -

Sampson
Sampson was a judge for the people of Israel. He was very strong for his strength came from the Lord but once he cut his hair it would go away. His wife tricked him into cutting his hair and he was captured by the philistines. He asked God for strength to kill the philistines and God granted him it. He threw the pillars down and killed the philistines along with himself.
