Establishment of Israel
Israel was proclaimed after being a lone state for nearly 2,000 years. The declaration was official once the last of the british troops retreated from Israeli territory. Shortly after Israel was invaded by fice countries . Even though they were of to a bad start they managed to push back enemy forces. -
Suez Campaign
In 1956 the Isreali, British, and French went to war against Egypt. because Egypt claimed the Zuez canal and porhibited anyone from using it, Egypt had been buying more and more weapons from the Russians. Israel was able to capture some land from Egypt but was pressured to return it by the U.S. -
The Munich Olympics
The palestinian group, Black, captured and killed members of the Israeli Olympic Team. -
Yom Kippur
During the holiest day of Jewish beliefs, Israel was attacled. Even tho the Israelis were of to a bad start they were able to make them retreat. -
The Arafat
Arafat showed up at the United Nations faking trying to find a peaceful solution. The main reason he showed up was to make is cause more recongnized. -
Camp David Accords
After the U.S. negotiated with Israel and Egypt they both eventually signed the Camp David Accords Treaty. President Sadat traveled to Israel and signed the treaty. -
Sadat is Assassinated!
Sadat is shot to death by Egyptian soldiers who dissagreed with the treaty. -
Arafat returns
People cheered arafat on as he returns from the dead. Arafat returns and is elected President of Authority.
