A battle at Olmedo in Castile involving the belief that Alfonso, Isabella's full brother, had the right to the throne.

Alfonso dies

Jul 5, 1468

Alfonso, the brother of Isabella dies when the people wanted him to be king and suspicions arise that Henry IV might have poisoned him to ensure his position as king. He died at the age of 14.

Isabella and Ferdinand recieve the keys of Granada after the last sultan of Granada, Muhammad XII, surrendered. A treaty was signed to give the Moors religious tolerance and fair treatment for their surrender. This ends the spanish Reconquista.
