Google Nest (formerly Nest Labs)-launches the Nest Learning Thermostat (Gen 1). The electronic thermostat changes households across the world by giving people access to changing their temperature of their homes on their mobile devices, and helping users save money. -
2012: Pie Time
The Raspberry Pi Foundation creates a small sized single-board computer equipment. The foundations goal- to promote the teaching of how computers work, computer science, and programming. This machine supports python, and C programming languages. -
2013: Game Changer
Google announces and launches a limited supply of prototype smart glasses. Able to connect to the internet, and receiving voice commands from the wearer, the price on these smart glasses were around $1,400 dollars. Soon after clients are worries about privacy issue violations and later google puts the idea on hold. If gone through and approved we could have recorded what we see on a daily basis. -
2014: Apple Pay
Apple launches apple pay. With apple pay you can store/have an electronic copy of your credit and debit cards on you phone for easy and secure access. Reducing risk of fraud and unauthorized activity. According to apple, the only device that will have your info would be the phone you are using, not even apple servers would be able to store any data. -
2015: Alexa
Amazon introduces the Amazon Echo. This device once installed in you home, is a virtual assistant. From setting timers, playing music and asking questions to the Echo about the forecast, the Echo made simple tasks in households much easier. -
2016: Oculus Rift
The Oculus Rift is introduced. The Oculus Rift is a piece of equipment virtual reality and gaming. This would move the VR and Gaming community closer together for the future!
