    Photoshop is released by Adobe on Windows 3.0. It was created by John and Thomas Knoll. Photoshop is widely used now more than ever. It has made it possible to edit images and even create fictional imagery.
  • Linux

    The Linux kernel is released to the masses. It was created by Linus Torvads and in 1992 was made to be free of cost. It was and still is a massively popular open source operating system.
  • Java

    Java
    It was first released in 1995 but the first stable version of Java was released in 1996. It was created by James Gosling as the first programming language to run on any system allowing electronic devices to communicate with each other.
  • iMac

    iMac
    The iMac was released as an all-in-one desktop from Apple. It saved the company from bankruptcy and they continue to play a large role in consumer electronics today. It was famously introduced by Steve Jobs and the case was designed by Jonathan Ive.
  • WiFi

    WiFi
    Wi-Fi becomes more commercially accessible at home. Many people contributed to the idea but it was standardized and branded in 1999 driving devices to go wire-less.
