  • Submarine

    In 1859, Narcís Monturiol invented the world's first fully operational submarine, in Barcelona. The double hulled, hand powered vessel was built of copper, heathed olive,wood staves. The submarine was able to go down 20 meters and mainly used for coral studies and finding new species of fish. The would catch fish using a wooden net that one man would move around. The submarine helped people see what was down in the deep waters of the sea.

They were both made of wood and did not clean dishes very well but it made it easier to clean dishes faster.
