Kennedy would likely have not gotten as involved in the Vietnam War. LBJ had to use the attack that we can not confirmed to have actually happened to get more heavily involved and be allowed to use bombs. Had Kennedy lived the war would've panned out differently and U.S. involvement wouldn't be as heavy. -
President Johnson claims a U.S ship had been fired upon by the North Vietnamese
The ship attacked was called the U.S.S Maddox and the response was the Tonkin Gulf Resolution. Which gave legal justification for the bombing of N. Vietnam.
