While I wouldn't consider this of the most 'important' things to happen in internet history per se, but it's crucial to understand the ability of the internet to influence young people. There was a challenge on the internet that convinced people to eat Tide Pods which 'looked delicious.' Serious illness was the result of many people all over the world. What a time to be alive.
