This group opposed any non-whites immigrating to New Zealand. 1930 1000 German Jews who were fleeing the Nazis arrived. 1940 British child evacuees from World War 2 arrived, as well as Polish refugees. 1947 New Zealand government paid for British immigrants they wanted to settle in New Zealand. 1951 19 000 Dutch immigrants arrived. 1980 Refugees arrived from Iraq and Iran. 1990 Somali and Bosnian refugees arrived in NZ.
