Intergating Refugees

    The number of people that can be successfully intergated
    Kozani is not a big city like others in Greece. However, that doesn't mean that we can not welcome refugees here. In proportion to it's population, which is around 45.000 people, we believe that about 300 to 350 refugee familes could be successfully intergrated here.

  • Where refugees can stay

    Where refugees can stay
    Refugee families would be able to stay in camps that will be built in some of the big parks of the city. Until the camps are made, refugees could might stay in houses or hostels provided. Another places that the refugees could stay in, are abandoned houses in a good condition that could become a temporary place to stay in.

  • The kind of entrepreneuship that can be developed

    The kind of entrepreneuship that can be developed
    In our city several types of entrepreneuship can be developed. For instance, refugees that have new ideas for businesses that can develop the tourism, might be able to work with locals and create a new shop that will eventually be a local attraction. Furthermore, refugees might want to work and remake abandoned shops into something practical or even those whom have talents or hobbys for example cooking, can open a restaurant with the help of a local resident.

    The way my school can help
    Schools can be of potential help in entertaining refugees. Refugee children can learn the greek language and start socializing with other kids from a different nation by attending our schools. Moreover, schools can start a funding program by which students will be able to donate money, food and clothes for the refugees.

  • The potential benefits for local community

    The potential benefits for local community
    By welcoming refugees into our city, Kozani can be helped in a number of reasons. First of all, if refugees are given a small allowance, the money they'll spend in local shops will be injected into our economy. Furthermore, refugees that want to work can be given jobs. This way, the fast and increasing production of new products will make people buy them fast. By doing this more people will want to buy a new product and more money will be injected into our economy.
