End of World War I
World War 1 ended on the 11th of November, 1918. Germany had formally surrendered on this day and all nations agreed to stop fighting while the terms of peace were negotiated. The Allied Nations (Britain, France, Australia, New Zealand, India and the British Empire of Newfoundland) defeated mainly Germany, along with Austria-Hungary and were the successful allies in this war. -
Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was signed on the 28th of June, 1919. This treaty was signed by Prime Minister David Lloyd George of Britain, Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau of France, President Woodrow of the USA and Prime Minister Vittorio Orlando of Italy. The Treaty of Versailles was signed in the city of Versailles, France and was the formal ending the the First World War. -

This is where there were dramatic changes to politics and social classes/services. The American nation's total wealth doubled between 1920 and 1929. During this time, women in America gained the right to legally vote. -

The Great Depression
The Great Depression began with the downfall of the New York stock exchange in 1929 when prices for mass-produced consumer goods and agricultural staples dropped and unemployment began to rise in many industrialised nations. Work became harder to find and companies were finding it hard to find the appropriate audiences for their produce. As confidence in the economy declined, more businesses began to close down, resulting in even more people unemployed leaving them in fiscal deficits. -
Commencement of Hitler's Reign
Hitler rose to power in Germany as Chancellor on the 30th of January, 1933 and in 1934 he declared himself as Furher.

German Expansionism
On the 16th of March, 1935, Adolf Hitler ignored the Versailles Treaty and ordered Germany to re-arm, this being the reintroduction of military conscription. Many felt that the restrictions placed on the German military were harsh and so Hitler was only loosening them and would go no further. However, these predictions were proved to be incorrect not long after, when Hitler began causing a havoc among many nations. -

The Spanish Civil War
The Spanish Civil War was deemed one of the bloodiest civil wars in the 20th century. There were two sides to this war; the Republicans and the Nationalists. The Republicans consisted of the Spanish government, communists, anarchists, workers and peasants. The upper-class and the 'rebel part of the army' made up the Nationalists. -
Beginning of World War 2
World War 2 involved 61 countries, with 50 million people losing their lives and hundreds of millions of people experiencing injuries. World War 2 began with Germany beginning an unprovoked attack on Poland. This lead to Britain declaring war on Germany after Adolf Hitler refused to abort this invasion on Poland. Soon, many other countries began to get involved.
