It was launched with the proposal to be a “pocket phone”, to be carried to places in a more practical way than the previous one.

    Considered the first smartphone in the world, because it has more functionality than other cell phones, the IBM Simon started to be marketed in August 1994. It had a very common technology today, but innovative for the time: touch screens. In addition, it featured tools such as calendar, calculator and notepad. But so much novelty did not win over the public at the time, and the device, which cost 700 dollars, sold few units and was soon withdrawn from the market.

However, the difficulty of access and cost caused connectivity to be neglected.

However, with the entry of Apple in the dispute, the situation changes.
