In 1769 one of the first factories was made by a man named Richard Arkwright. Richard Arkwright employed more or less 300 people, and had them working for long hours -
1840s
In the 1840s lots of people started to work in factories. In the 1840s the men, woman and children had to at least work for 10 hours a day, this applied for all the factories in that time, but even though they were working for so long their salaries were very low. -
1840s - 1860s
After many years of striking and riots, the workers managed to get the factory owners to lower the working hours, increase their salaries and stopped children from working (in the factories) -
1860s - 2019
From those years on, some work times have changed, and also many salaries have been increase to a more substantial or suitable amount
