Nicéphore Niépce took the first photo in 1826. Therefore, he invented/discovered them. Photography brought about entire careers in capturing photos, and allowed people to travel through images. -
Beehives
L. L. Langstroth came up with the idea of bee keeping. Obviously bees were around before some knuckle-head deicided to utlize them. However, bees brought about the concept of buyable honey and bee by products. -
Elevator BRAKE
Invented by Elisha Graves Otis. Saving hundreds of lives and just making more sense than an elevator without a brake. Seriously, it should not have been released without one. The first inventor was just plain lazy. -
Dynamite
Alfred Noble gets credit for inventing this well used explosive. Used for mining, warfare, construction, and scaring children. -
Barbed Wire
First invented by 1867 to Lucien B. Smith of Kent, Ohio, who is regarded as the inventor. Joseph F. Glidden of DeKalb, Illinois, received a patent for the modern invention in 1874 after he made his own modifications to previous versions.
Barbed wire keeps in cattle and other livestock, feeding the world today. -
Telephone
There is debate wether Alexander Grahman Bell or Antonio Meucci actually invented the telephone. This new device was enormously helpful in the speed and sureness of a message being sent. Before telephones mail had to be sent, this could take days or weeks even months to deliver any and all information. -
Calculators
Willhelm Schickard invented them. They made the calculation of massive numbers not only possible but easy. Allowing massive amounts of production to be calculatable. -
Electric Elevator
Invented by Alexander Miles even thought the idea had been around since Roman times. His invention had no break... As one can see that would be a small problem. -
Escalator
Debate between wether Jesse W. Reno or Charles Seeberger invented the escalator. Not as revolutionary as some of the other inventions, but can be used as a convayer belt to move large amounts of objects up or down any amount of virtical space. -
Radio
Heinrich Hertz claims the credit for inventing the radio. A step up from telephone which broad casts news over many miles. Replacing the nessessity for newspapers.
