Invention of the Lightening Rod
Benjamin Franklin invented the lighting rod at this time. A lightning rod, simply, is a rod attached to the top of a building, connected to the ground through a wire. The electric charge from lightning strikes the rod and the charge is conducted harmlessly into the ground. The Spinning Jenny
James Hargreaves made a number of Spinning Jennies and started to sell them in the area. However, since each machine was capable of doing the work of eight people.He began to consider the design for a machine that would increase the output of thread by increasing the number of spindles able to be operated by a single wheel. In 1768, a group of spinners broke into Hargreaves' house and destroyed his machines.

Invention Of The Submarine
a Dutch inventor, managed to build a submarine. He wrapped a wooden rowboat tightly in waterproofed leather and had air tubes with floats to the surface to provide oxygen. The first submarine used for military purposes was built in 1776 by David Bushnell (1742-1824) of the US. John Barber was an English inventor of the 18th century. He is most well known for inventing a gas turbine Barber invented the gas turbine via a rotary motion engine which obtained gas by burning wood, coal, oil or other combustible substances. These were then directed into another vessel called a receiver and cooled.
