Period: 2600 BCE to 1900 BCE
Mature Harappa Phase
Mature Harappan phase (2600 BC–1900 BC) – the period in which well-developed towns with burnt brick structures, inland and foreign trade, crafts of various types, etc. were noticed. -
Period: 1900 BCE to 1300 BCE
Late Harrapan Phase
The last phase of the Indus Valley Civilization that lasted from c. 1900 to 1300 BCE and was preceded by the Early Harappan Phase (c. 3300–2600 BCE) and Mature Harappan Phase (c. 2600–1900 BCE). The period marks the gradual decline of the civilization, with a breakdown of urban centers and the establishment of rural networks. Towards the end of the phase, most post-urban sites were abandoned. Important sites from this phase include Jhumar in Sindh and Rangpur in Gujarat.
