the stone roses start in 1983 where they signed to an independant record company, but after releasing there first album were asked by a major record company which they accepted but this didnt go down well with the independant record company who they had signed a contract with, this then ment them going to court and the stone roses were given a ban from making music and performing music for 2 years and they never really released anything until 5 years after the ban. -

A band called blur start out in 1989 who later go on to become rivals with oasis. -

blur are a band that originate from london, who write songs about day to day topics which are relateable with the public, this is one of the reasons why they were so popular, They became in a battle of brit pop with oasis which went on throughout there time as a band. -

Oasis started off in 1991 then broke up in 2009 because of differences between the 2 brothers, there most well known song was wonderwall which liam originally didnt want to sing because it didnt soot the bands genre and style but went on to become one of the biggest indie records of all time, they had 22 top 10 hits in the UK charts. the band also hold a world record for being the most successful band during 1995 and 2005. spending 765 weeks in the Top 75 singles and albums charts. -
Oasis knebworth gig in the summer of 1996
Oasis do a gig which has over 1 million applications to tickets and 250,000 people turn up to the gig. This was the biggest gig at that time.
