Army (the british) george washington thought he could trap cornwallis so the french fleet seized the chesapeake bay keeping cornwallis from escaping and then combined his 2500 troops with the french's 4000 and surrounded cornwallis thy fought for a long time cornwallis then sent a drummer and a white flag as surrender the patriots knew this was all over and that was the last major battle of the american revolution. -
