For his class, Lakatos wrote a doctoral thesis on the Euler-Descartes theorem during 1961. Specifically, the studied formula: V - E + F = 2 was considered with proof by Lakatos for his class, a lectured discussion of the arguments for and against the ‘Euclidean’ approach related to mathematics.
