Formed Marxist group
During his time as leader of the group, they were joined by a 19-year old Jewish antifascist by the name of Eva Izsak. Changed His Name
Moved back to Debrecen and changed his name from "the Germanic Jewish Lipsitz to the Hungarian proletarian Lakatos (meaning “locksmith”)." This was a popular thing to do in those days due to anti Nazi/Germany sentimentalism. Also became active in the Communist Party at this time. -
