The calculator
Pascal's calculator (also known as the arithmetic machine or Pascaline) is a mechanical calculator invented by Blaise Pascal in 1642. Pascal was led to develop a calculator by the laborious arithmetical calculations required by his father's work as the supervisor of taxes in Rouen. He designed the machine to add and subtract two numbers directly and to perform multiplication and division through repeated addition or subtraction. -
Jeans
The story of jeans goes back to 19th century when sailors from Genoa, Italy, wore durable cotton and wool denim trousers. Then, in 1853, 24-year-old Levi Strauss travelled to San Francisco from Germany and decided to design trousers for manual workers from this material. The first automobile was first invented by a French mechanic, Nicolas Joseph. Before that, people never dreamt of seeing vehicles travel on anything other than rail. The first automobile was a steam powered engine, and later in the 18th century, Karl Benz made the first practical automobile. His Benz Patent Motorcar from 1885 is considered the first practical modern automobile. . However, the invention of the modern automobile is attributed to Henry Ford. -
