Christopher Columbus discovers America
No event afterwards would have happened if Christopher Columbus would not have founded America. -
Pilgrims come to America
Established Plymoth Colony, Jamestown, and Massachussetts Bay. They also brought religious freedom, and Christianity. -
Mayflower Compact
People on the ship agreed to 'majorrity rule'. -
French and Indian War
French and Indians versus the British and Americans. Because America won, it gave them confidence to fight more. -
Boston Tea Party
Men and women refused to buy, or use supplies from Britian. -
First Continental Congress
Was the first move towards independence. -
Declaration of Independence
Finalized and proved America was independent. -
Battle of Saratoga
When the war began to go bad for the Americans, the French stepped intp help with supplies, shelter, etc. Americans won and it built up their self esteem. -
Articles of Confederation
First government was formed. -
Battle of Yorktown
Is the last battle of the Revolution. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was signed to prevent or end wars. It resulted in ending the Revolutionary War. -
Ratification of Constitution
Explains to us how we will be governed. -

Doupled the size of the United States -
Missouri Compromise
Missouri wants to enter the union. All states north of Missouri are free states. The compromise prevented the Civil War from happening in 1820. -
Nullification Crisis
South Carolina decides they do not want to pay tarriffs. -
Compromise of 1850
Strengthens fugitive slave act. If anyone found slaves that had escaped to the north they were forced to return/report them to the south. -
Kansas Nebraska Act
Kansas and Nebraska want to join the union. This was the first event that blood shed over slavery. -
The beginning of the Civil War
Proved America could come together as one. -
13th Ammendmant
Abolished slavery in the United States. -
Emancipation Proclomation
It changed the goal of the war, and makes the war a moral cause for the north. -
End of Civil War
Ended all fighting of the Civil War.
